TMA-APACHE-3.2
Ensure the Apache User Account Has an Invalid Shell
MediumLevel 1Automatedapache
Description
The apache account must not be used as a regular login account, and should be assigned an invalid or nologin shell to ensure that the account cannot be used to login. The account named by the User directive must have /sbin/nologin (or /dev/null) as its login shell. Reads the main configuration (APACHE_CONF overrides; default /etc/apache2/apache2.conf, /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf or /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf) and every Include/IncludeOptional file.
How it is checked
Audit method: Shell command
