Ensure that YCQL only listens for network connections on authorized interfaces
MediumLevel 2Manual reviewyugabytedb
Description
The cql_proxy_bind_address GFLAG setting specifies the IP address and port for YCQL interface. cql_proxy_bind_address should be set according to your organization's approved IP address and ports policy.
How it is checked
Audit method: Manual review
This recommendation cannot be checked automatically. A scan lists it with these instructions when you pass --include-manual.
Check the cql_proxy_bind_address GFlag of every YB-TServer (curl -s http://<tserver>:9000/varz | grep cql_proxy_bind_address, or the tserver flag file). It must name an authorised address and port, not 0.0.0.0 or an unapproved interface.
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
Use the yb-tserver binary and its flags to configure the YB-TServer server. Add the following GFLAG to YB-TServer: ./bin/yb-tserver --cql_proxy_bind_address <ip address>:<port>
