TMA-TOMCAT-6.4
Ensure secure is set to true only for SSL-enabled Connectors
Description
The secure attribute is used to convey Connector security status to applications operating over the Connector. This is typically achieved by calling request.isSecure(). Ensure the secure attribute is only set to true for Connectors operating with the SSLEnabled attribute set to true. For every Connector: SSLEnabled="true" requires secure="true"; other connectors must have secure unset or "false". Reads $CATALINA_BASE (default /opt/tomcat) and $CATALINA_HOME (default: $CATALINA_BASE); set them for packaged installs (e.g. CATALINA_BASE=/var/lib/tomcat10, CATALINA_HOME=/usr/share/tomcat10). XML comments are ignored.
How it is checked
Audit method: Shell command

compliant
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
Set secure="true" on TLS connectors and secure="false" (or none) on the others in server.xml. Restart Tomcat afterwards.
