TMA-TDSQL-5.2
Ensure the `root` Account Is Disabled or Hardened
Description
MySQL's root superuser account holds all privileges. In the TDSQL architecture, instance management is performed by system accounts (tdsqlsys_*), and root should not be used for daily operations.
How it is checked
Audit method: Manual review
This recommendation cannot be checked automatically. A scan lists it with these instructions when you pass --include-manual.
1. Check whether TDSQL has forbidden root user operations: # Check whether root is forbidden in the OSS configuration grep "forbidden" <oss_config> | grep "root" 2. Check the root account status in the MySQL instance: SELECT User, Host, account_locked FROM mysql.user WHERE User = 'root';
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
1. Ensure the OSS configuration db_user_root.forbidden = true (the TDSQL default). 2. If a root account exists, lock it: ALTER USER 'root'@'localhost' ACCOUNT LOCK; 3. Or change the root password to a strong random value and store it only in a secure password management system.
