TMA-MYSQL-3.8
Ensure Plugin Directory Has Appropriate Permissions
HighLevel 1Automatedmysql
Description
The plugin directory is the location of the MySQL plugins. Plugins are storage engines or user defined functions (UDFs). Expects plugin_dir mode 550 or 554. Runs mysql -NBe with the client defaults: put an administrative account in ~/.my.cnf (mode 0600) or a mysql_config_editor login path, not MYSQL_PWD (see 1.4/1.6).
How it is checked
Audit method: Shell command
shell
[ "$(id -u)" -eq 0 ] || exit 1; p=$(mysql -NBe "SELECT IFNULL(@@global.plugin_dir, '')" 2>/dev/null) || exit 1; m=$(stat -c %a "$p" 2>/dev/null) || exit 1; case "$m" in 550|554) echo compliant ;; *) echo "mode $m" ;; esac- Expected output
compliant
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
chmod 550 <plugin_dir> (or 554) && chown mysql:mysql <plugin_dir>; the server must not be able to write to it.
