TMA-MYSQL-2.3
Dedicate the Machine Running MySQL
LowLevel 1Manual reviewmysql
Description
It is recommended that MySQL Server software be installed on a dedicated server. This architectural consideration affords flexibility in that the database server can be placed on a separate zone allowing access only from particular hosts and over particular protocols.
How it is checked
Audit method: Manual review
This recommendation cannot be checked automatically. A scan lists it with these instructions when you pass --include-manual.
Verify the host has no other roles and that no applications or services unrelated to MySQL are installed or running (systemctl list-units --type=service; package list).
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
Move unrelated services and applications off the MySQL host.
