TMA-MYSQL-10.1
Ensure All Group Replication Traffic is Secured
Description
MySQL Group communication connections and distributed recovery connections can be secured using SSL.
How it is checked
Audit method: Manual review
This recommendation cannot be checked automatically. A scan lists it with these instructions when you pass --include-manual.
In MySQL Shell run dba.getCluster().status() and check ssl is not DISABLED, or run SELECT @@group_replication_ssl_mode; DISABLED is a finding; REQUIRED, VERIFY_CA or VERIFY_IDENTITY mean TLS is enforced. Also check group_replication_recovery_use_ssl = ON.
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
Create the cluster with memberSslMode REQUIRED/VERIFY_IDENTITY (dba.createCluster(name, {memberSslMode: 'VERIFY_IDENTITY'})) or set group_replication_ssl_mode=REQUIRED and group_replication_recovery_use_ssl=ON on every member.
