TMA-APACHE-2.2
Ensure the Log Config Module Is Enabled
MediumLevel 1Automatedapache
Description
The log_config module provides for flexible logging of client requests, and provides for the configuration of the information in each log. Compliant when log_config_module is loaded. Uses the module list from apachectl -M (apache2ctl/httpd; needs root).
How it is checked
Audit method: Shell command
shell
b=$(command -v apache2ctl || command -v apachectl || command -v httpd) || exit 1; m=$("$b" ${APACHE_CONF:+-f "$APACHE_CONF"} -M 2>/dev/null) || exit 1; printf '%s\n' "$m" | grep -Eiq 'log_config_module' && echo compliant || echo noncompliant- Expected output
compliant
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
Load mod_log_config (LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so; a2enmod log_config is static on Debian). Then run apachectl configtest and reload Apache.
