Audit tools include custom queries and report generators. Protecting audit information includes identifying and protecting the tools used to view and manipulate log data. Protecting audit tools is necessary to prevent unauthorized operation on audit information. Audit: automated read-only check derived from the CIS audit procedure; it prints "compliant" when the control is met.
