Host SSH daemon, if enabled, must disable TCP forwarding
Descripción
Disabling TCP forwarding in the SSH daemon is a measure to prevent potential unauthorized tunneling and forwarding activities that could lead to data leaks or unauthorized data access. This measure adds a layer of security to the SSH service when enabled, making the system more resilient against certain types of network attacks. The audit reads /etc/ssh/sshd_config and requires AllowTcpForwarding no. Runs in the ESXi Shell (busybox sh) as root.
Cómo se verifica
Método de auditoría: Comando de shell
f=/etc/ssh/sshd_config; [ -r "$f" ] || exit 1
v=$(awk 'tolower($1)=="allowtcpforwarding" {print tolower($2); exit}' "$f")
case "$v" in '') echo 'AllowTcpForwarding not set' ;; no) echo compliant ;; *) echo "AllowTcpForwarding $v" ;; esac- Salida esperada

Cómo se corrige
Método de corrección: Guía o parche de infraestructura
To remediate this recommendation, set AllowTcpForwarding no, restart SSH if authorized, and test that TCP forwarding is blocked. Document any approved exception.
