TMA-AIX-6.1.2

Ensure sudo logging is active

AltaNivel 2Automatizadaaix

Descripción

All commands executed via sudo should be logged to either syslog (default) or a dedicated log file Note: visudo edits the sudoers file in a safe fashion, analogous to vipw(8). visudo locks the sudoers file against multiple simultaneous edits, provides basic sanity checks, and checks or parse errors. Audit: automated read-only check derived from the CIS audit procedure; it prints "compliant" when the control is met.

Cómo se verifica

Método de auditoría: Comando de shell

shell
c=$(cat /etc/sudoers /etc/sudoers.d/* 2>/dev/null); [ -n "$c" ] || exit 1; if printf '%s\n' "$c" | grep -Eiq "^[[:blank:]]*Defaults[[:blank:]]+logfile=[^[:blank:]]+"; then echo compliant; elif printf '%s\n' "$c" | grep -Eiq "^[[:blank:]]*Defaults[[:blank:]]+syslog_(bad|good)pri=none"; then echo "sudo syslog priority set to none"; else echo compliant; fi
Salida esperada
compliant

Cómo se corrige

Método de corrección: Guía o parche de infraestructura

Edit the file /etc/sudoers or a file in /etc/sudoers.d/ with /usr/sbin/visudo -f <PATH TO FILE> Remove any lines which are found containing: Defaults syslog_badpri=none -OR- Defaults syslog_goodpri=none -OR- If you do not want to log sudo commands to syslog, to use as sudo specific log file, edit the file /etc/sudoers or a file in /etc/sudoers.d/ with /usr/sbin/visudo -f <PATH TO FILE>: Defaults logfile="<PATH TO CUSTOM LOG FILE>" Example: Defaults logfile="/var/log/sudo.log"
