TMA-ROS1-2.2.12
Ensure Samba is not enabled
Description
The Samba daemon allows system administrators to configure their Linux systems to share file systems and directories with Windows desktops. Samba will advertise the file systems and directories via the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. Windows desktop users will be able to mount these directories and file systems as letter drives on their systems. The audit requires the Samba unit(s) smbd not to be enabled or active (systemctl). Host-level control from the CIS ROS Melodic benchmark (Ubuntu 18.04 robot hosts); run as root.
How it is checked

systemctl is-active --quiet "$u" 2>/dev/null && { echo "$u is active"; bad=1; }
done
[ "$bad" -eq 0 ] && echo compliant- Expected output
compliant
How it is fixed
Fix method: Guidance or infrastructure patch
