TMA-PGSQL-PASSWORD-ENCRYPTION

Ensure 'password_encryption' is set to 'scram-sha-256'

MittelStufe 1Automatisiertpostgres

Beschreibung

New passwords should be stored as SCRAM-SHA-256 verifiers rather than MD5 hashes (MD5 support is deprecated in PostgreSQL 18). Not a separate CIS PostgreSQL 18 recommendation (see the 5.4 default-value notes). Runs psql as ${PGUSER:-postgres} against ${PGDATABASE:-postgres}; set PGHOST/PGPORT and use ~/.pgpass (not PGPASSWORD, see 1.6/1.7) when peer authentication is not available.

So wird geprüft

Prüfmethode: SQL-Abfrage

sql_query
out=$(psql -X -U "${PGUSER:-postgres}" -d "${PGDATABASE:-postgres}" -tAc "SHOW password_encryption" 2>/dev/null) || exit 1; printf '%s\n' "$out"
Erwartete Ausgabe
scram-sha-256

So wird behoben

Behebungsmethode: SQL-Anweisung

shell
psql -X -U "${PGUSER:-postgres}" -c "ALTER SYSTEM SET password_encryption = 'scram-sha-256'" -c "SELECT pg_reload_conf()"
